About The Position

Reno Orthopedic Center (ROC) is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated MRI Technologist to join their team. This role is responsible for obtaining high-quality MRI images to aid in patient treatment plan development. Requirements

  • MRI Technologist Certification through ARRT or ARMRIT
  • Knowledge of MRI and radiology safety procedures and protocols
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA regulations/procedures
  • Experience using computer systems and applications, including radiology software
  • Experience communicating effectively with patients, physicians and other medical staff

Responsibilities

  • Performs MRI procedures by operating high-field magnetic resonance equipment to produce detailed diagnostic images.
  • Selects appropriate imaging techniques and ensures optimal image quality.
  • Prepares and screens patients for safety, explains procedures, and positions patients using proper immobilization and protective measures.
  • Maintains accurate documentation in electronic medical records and PACS.
  • Supports quality control and assurance initiatives.
  • Ensures the radiology department is clean, stocked, and operating efficiently.
  • Operates high field strength magnets and related equipment to produce radiographic images of patients’ specific body parts.
  • Operates a Magnetic Resonance (MR) scanner to obtain images used by physicians, determines appropriate imaging techniques, and operates console and peripheral hardware.
  • Evaluates MR scans for technical quality, collates processed images and sequence of exposure and labels appropriately.
  • Documents imaging performed, appropriate charges and other necessary information in patients’ electronic medical records and Patient Archive Communication System (PACS).
  • Maintains quality control measures in accordance with American College of Radiology guidelines.
  • Follows quality assurance guidelines including positioning, markers, demographics, and coning to ensure optimal images before releasing image to physician.
  • Prepares radiology department daily including cleaning, stocking, and sanitizing work areas and equipment.
