This role is responsible for obtaining high-quality MRI images to aid in patient treatment plan development. Requirements

MRI Technologist Certification through ARRT or ARMRIT
Knowledge of MRI and radiology safety procedures and protocols
Knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA regulations/procedures
Experience using computer systems and applications, including radiology software
Experience communicating effectively with patients, physicians and other medical staff

Responsibilities

Performs MRI procedures by operating high-field magnetic resonance equipment to produce detailed diagnostic images.
Selects appropriate imaging techniques and ensures optimal image quality.
Prepares and screens patients for safety, explains procedures, and positions patients using proper immobilization and protective measures.
Maintains accurate documentation in electronic medical records and PACS.
Supports quality control and assurance initiatives.
Ensures the radiology department is clean, stocked, and operating efficiently.
Operates high field strength magnets and related equipment to produce radiographic images of patients’ specific body parts.
Operates a Magnetic Resonance (MR) scanner to obtain images used by physicians, determines appropriate imaging techniques, and operates console and peripheral hardware.
Evaluates MR scans for technical quality, collates processed images and sequence of exposure and labels appropriately.
Documents imaging performed, appropriate charges and other necessary information in patients’ electronic medical records and Patient Archive Communication System (PACS).
Maintains quality control measures in accordance with American College of Radiology guidelines.
Follows quality assurance guidelines including positioning, markers, demographics, and coning to ensure optimal images before releasing image to physician.
Prepares radiology department daily including cleaning, stocking, and sanitizing work areas and equipment.
