Requirements

  • High School diploma or formal educational equivalent.
  • Graduate of a Radiological Technology program
  • Registry eligible or Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist.
  • An Arkansas Radiologic Technologist License must be obtained prior to start date.
  • MRI Advanced Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist must be obtained within 12 months from the hire date.
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Produces quality MRI images as ordered by treating physician.
  • Communicates with patients, coworkers and physicians through written and verbal forms of communication.
  • Complete required continuing education to stay abreast of new procedures as they are introduced.
  • Interacts with patients and family members during the entire procedure form prep to completion of the study.
  • Operates MRI scanners to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Follows physician orders and imaging protocols.
  • Ensures images are accurate enough for radiologist interpretation.
  • Explains procedures and answer patient questions before scanning.
  • Positions patients correctly for imaging.
  • Monitors patients throughout the MRI exam.
  • Supports anxious or uncomfortable patients.
  • Communicates clearly with patients and family members during the entire process.
  • Administers MRI contrast agents according to protocol and physician direction.
  • Monitors for adverse reactions
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation.
  • Records imaging data and scan parameters.
  • Assists with MRI scheduling and workflow coordination.
  • Follows MRI safety regulations and departmental policies.
  • Ensures only approved equipment and personnel enter MRI zones.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality and regulatory compliance.
  • Verifies MRI equipment is functioning properly.
  • Assists with quality assurance testing and scanner calibration.
  • Communicates patient concerns and exam findings appropriately.
  • Helps maintain MRI supplies and inventory.
  • Serves as a point of contact when leadership is unavailable.
  • Participates in continuing education and training on new imaging procedures.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
