About The Position

The MRI Technologist completes daily diagnostic imaging studies across modalities including MRI, CT, Digital Radiography, and C-Arm, aiming to produce high-quality images for diagnostic purposes. Key responsibilities involve obtaining patient history and allergies, informing patients about studies, safety protocols, and contrast media contraindications. The technologist is also responsible for maintaining a safe environment within the radiology department and MRI Suite, providing detailed patient instructions for exams, and accurately entering patient information into the EHR. The role requires producing imaging according to optimal standards for radiologist interpretation, including appropriate imaging recons, and completing notes in PACS. Additionally, the technologist performs duties as an epidural pain management technologist during procedures and as a C-arm fluoro in OR and procedure technologist when necessary. Participation in call and holiday rotations is required. The individual is expected to embody the hospital's philosophy, mission, and values, and perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an ARRT approved program in Radiologic Technology.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Registration through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, R.T. (R)(MR)(CT)(ARRT).
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience as technologist in a surgical or hospital setting with a strong working knowledge of Radiography.
  • Lab evidence of immunity (titer) to Hepatitis B or three doses Hep B vaccine at appropriate intervals.
  • Documentation of current seasonal flu vaccine (mandatory from November 1st through March 31st each year).
  • Lab evidence of immunity (titer) to Measles, Mumps, and Rubella or 2 doses of MMR Vaccination.
  • Lab evidence of immunity (titer) to Varicella or 2 doses of Varicella Vaccine.
  • Documented proof of Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis (Tdap) immunization.
  • Documentation of a two-step TB skin test within the past year OR lab verification of a negative TB Gold or T-Spot tuberculin test within the past 6 months.
  • Vaccine records or evidence of immunity are required prior to 1st day of scheduled work.
  • Pre-employment drug screen which includes marijuana.

  • C-Arm experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Obtains patient history and allergies, informs patients of study, safety, contrast media contraindications.
  • Maintains a safe environment for the patient, staff, and visitors in and around radiology department including the MRI Suite.
  • Provides patient instructions related to exam including breathing, communication, observation and length of study, along with post study instructions.
  • Enters required patient information accurately into the EHR; scans patients in accordance with specified appropriate protocol.
  • Produces imaging in accordance with optimum standards for radiologist interpretation. Including appropriate imaging recons. Completes notes on each patient in PACS.
  • Performs assigned responsibilities as epidural pain management technologist during procedures.
  • Performs assigned responsibilities as C-arm fluoro in OR and procedure technologist as necessary for imaging procedures.
  • Participates in taking call rotation and Holiday rotation when needed.
