About The Position

The MRI Technologist performs MRI imaging procedures, operates specialized equipment, and ensures high-quality diagnostic imaging. The MRI Technologist Performs a variety of technical procedures to apply magnetic resonance imaging for radiological diagnosis of patients of all ages. Applies knowledge of growth and development to appropriately care for all patients served. Operates highly specialized, technical equipment to obtain quality images. Performs IV contrast injections and other skills as required. Performs duties associated with processing patients, which may include scheduling, registration, file management and computer processing skills. Complies with all Carilion Clinic and Imaging policies, procedures and regulatory guidelines. Participates in the training of students and staff as assigned. Maintains appropriate registry and MRI registry. Must maintain CEU's in MRI for accreditation. Enhances personal and professional growth through participation in educational opportunities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology required
  • None (experience)
  • Certified/registered by ARRT in MRI, or certified/registered in an imaging profession by ARRT, NMTCB, or ARDMS, or eligible for MRI advanced certification by meeting ARRT candidate requirements required
  • MRI certificate accepted
  • Applicants who have completed MRI school or are currently enrolled in MRI school will be considered
  • AHA BLS-HCP required
  • Strong interpersonal and technical skills with flexibility in assignments
