About The Position

MRI Technologists are responsible for performing high-quality MRI scans according to department protocols under the supervision of a qualified Physician for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. Safety is the number one priority in MRI; therefore, the technologist must screen the patient and anyone else before they can enter the magnetic field. The technologist provides direct patient care for all ages of patients. The technologist is to provide very good customer service, treating every patient with respect and courtesy, and explaining the exam to the patient. The technologist must be able to work together with others, providing a positive work environment. The technologists are responsible for providing a safe environment for the patients, fellow employees, and themselves.

Requirements

  • Vocational - Technical Degree in Radiology Technology (Required)
  • Radiology Technologist (RT)
  • Certified Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) (ARRT)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Good manual dexterity

Responsibilities

  • Perform high quality MRI scans according to department protocols.
  • Screen patients and others before they enter the magnetic field to ensure safety.

  • Perform other duties as required and complete all job functions as per departmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintain current knowledge in present areas of responsibility through self-education and ongoing educational programs.
  • Attend staff meetings and complete mandatory in-services, requirements, and competency evaluations on time.
  • Demonstrate competency at all levels in providing care to all patients based on age, sex, weight, and demonstrated needs.
  • Wear protective clothing and equipment as appropriate.
