Performs all MRI routine procedures for the diagnostic treatment of specified diseases or conditions. This role involves performing all routine procedures designated within the MRI Section of Radiology Department, demonstrating competency and efficiency in the treatment, care of and interaction with all patients of any age to include neo-natal, newborns, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics. The technologist is responsible for assessing and clearing the patient for MRI safety, reviewing physician orders, preparing the patient for the procedure, and answering any questions. They are also responsible for accurately beginning and ending procedures in the computer system for billing and productivity, maintaining a safe environment (including magnetic field exposure and infection control), and monitoring the quality of care for continuous improvement.
