About The Position

The role operates under the administrative direction of the Radiology Director and the clinical direction of the Radiologist, independently performing a majority of exams with minimal supervision. The incumbent must possess knowledge of Federal and State regulatory agency standards, demonstrate the ability to progressively manage care delivery, and effectively communicate data both verbally and in writing. Flexibility with the work schedule is required. The incumbent will uphold the highest ethical and moral standards, act in the best interest of the hospital, and fully support its mission, vision, and values. Knowledge of healthcare systems and the ability to interact with a diverse workforce are essential.

Requirements

  • 2 years’ experience
  • Associate degree from an Accredited Radiology Program
  • Possess a level of clinical expertise and competency in cross-sectional anatomy.
  • Must have the ability to handle critical care situations which can create a high level of stress.
  • Must be ARRT (R)(CT) registered
  • Active NM MIRTP Licensure (Medical Imaging & Radiation Therapy Program)
  • Current BLS (CPR)

Responsibilities

  • Assists Manager with oversight of staff in operation of imaging equipment and picture archiving and communication systems (PACS).
  • Evaluates accuracy and quality of images and provides technical assistance.
  • Provides daily assignment of staff and monitors workload to adjust staffing and/or workload appropriately.
  • Assists with hiring and oversees orientation of staff.
  • Schedules staff to achieve productivity on goals and conform to established protocols and procedures.
  • Oversee procedural flow of department to assure timely performance.
  • Ensures hospital policies and procedures are consistently implemented and followed by employees.
  • Sets clear performance and behavioral expectations and objectives and holds direct reports accountable for meeting those expectations and objectives.
  • Attend staff meetings as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
