About The Position

This is a PRN position with various shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends. Specific hours will be discussed during the interview. As a drug-free facility, passing a pre-employment drug screening is required. The role involves operating high-field strength magnets and related equipment to produce radiographic images, analyzing patient histories for contraindications like pacemakers, maintaining patient records in the Radiology Information System (RIS), acquiring IV access for contrasted studies, and providing appropriate patient care while ensuring patient confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA. The technologist must also maintain continued education for professional licensure and comply with government regulations for staff and patient safety, as well as evaluate scan technical quality.

Requirements

  • Second year Radiology Student or ARRT certified.
  • General knowledge of diagnostic MRI principles, procedures, views, and equipment.
  • Experience responding to traumas and various hospital emergencies.
  • Ability to perform complex tasks associated with the operation of high-field strength magnets and related equipment.
  • Ability to analyze patient histories and complete screenings for pacemakers or other objects that may cause injuries during the exam.
  • Ability to acquire IV access to patients needing contrasted studies.
  • Recognize conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure.
  • Comply with HIPAA and compliance guidelines.
  • Responsible for maintaining continued education as required for professional licensure.
  • Must be able to comply with government regulations to ensure the safety of the staff and patients.
  • Evaluate the scans for technical quality.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately maintain patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS).

  • Provide appropriate patient care and recognize conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure.
