About The Position

Performs routine and special magnetic resonance imaging procedures. Produces MR images of designated anatomical areas according to established practices and procedures. Responsibilities include acting as an on-call technologist, training new staff, and having passed the MRI advanced level specialty exam as per ARRT. The role involves performing MR imaging studies, obtaining patient history, explaining procedures, and addressing patient concerns. Under physician supervision, administers intravenous contrast media and recognizes/treats complications. Schedules cases, positions and transfers patients comfortably, immobilizes patients as necessary, and practices MRI safety procedures. Maintains required documentation. Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development principles for the assigned patient population, assessing and interpreting age-specific data, and providing appropriate age-specific treatment. Provides direct patient care to assigned age groups. Commits to patient, visitor, and staff safety by complying with regulations, learning about medical errors and reduction methodologies, reporting errors and hazardous conditions, identifying standardization opportunities, and participating in safety education. Maintains policies, procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environmental, and infection control standards. Enhances professional growth through education and participation in meetings. Provides outstanding customer service, fosters teamwork, and practices fiscal responsibility. Orders and requests necessary supplies, and maintains cleanliness of work areas.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 years Relevant experience
  • Basic Life Support Upon Hire
  • Registered Technologist-Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) - ARRT Upon Hire or Certified MRI Technologist - ARMRIT Upon Hire
  • Accredited program in radiologic technology and training in MRI procedures. Upon Hire
