Performs radiographic and/or medical imaging and related procedures to assist in diagnosis and treatment of patients. Responsibilities include providing direct patient care, evaluating outcomes, operating magnetic resonance systems and associated devices, preparing and positioning patients, maintaining quality control and assurance, and ensuring archival storage of digitized data. The role also involves evaluating images for technical quality, manipulating display parameters, reporting equipment malfunctions, and participating in quality assessment and improvement plans. Adherence to magnetic resonance safety principles to minimize risk is crucial. The technologist will communicate patient/family healthcare needs, provide patient education, report variances, and collaborate with other disciplines for efficient patient care. Teamwork to achieve business goals, quality outcomes, and customer satisfaction is expected, along with regular and timely attendance. Participation in committees and performance improvement activities, successful completion of probation and competency requirements, practicing within legal, ethical, and professional boundaries, maintaining expertise, and serving as a role model are also key aspects of the position.
