About The Position

Join our team as an MRI Technologist (PRN)! We are seeking a skilled and dependable MRI Technologist to join our team at Utah Valley Hospital. This PRN role is ideal for an experienced tech who can work independently when needed and thrives in a fast-paced hospital environment. You’ll work closely with radiologists, physicians, and fellow caregivers to deliver high-quality diagnostic imaging while ensuring patient safety and comfort. This position requires flexibility and confidence working both independently and as part of a team.

Requirements

• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)(MR) or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)(R) cross-trained in MRI
• Basic Life Support certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
• IV Competency within 30 days of hire
• Anatomy knowledge and MRI imaging principles
• Image evaluation and quality assessment
• MRI equipment operation and contrast protocols
• MRI safety practices
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and patient care skills
• Task prioritization in a fast-paced environment
• Familiarity with electronic imaging systems

Nice To Haves

• 1-2 years of MRI technologist experience
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution

Responsibilities

• Maintains ARRT or modality-specific competency and performs MRI exams per protocol
• Verifies patient identity, prepares patients, and ensures proper positioning
• Reviews images for quality, clarity, and diagnostic accuracy
• Follows MRI safety, infection control, and sterile technique standards
• Completes studies efficiently without compromising patient care
• Supports patient education, comfort, and overall workflow
• Operates MRI equipment and imaging systems (e.g., PACS)
• Documents exams accurately and follows protocols for coding, charging, and reporting
• May assist with training or supporting other caregivers
