About The Position

Under the supervision of the MRI Team Leader and/or the radiologist(s), performs a variety of procedures requiring independent judgment and initiative in utilization of MRI equipment to create high quality diagnostic images. This position is involved in a team-based approach to care. Team members are trained to meet the highest level of function for their role as per the State of Tennessee/Georgia guidelines. Is trained and assigned (as per their role and responsibilities) to coordinate care for patients and is trained and assigned to support patients/families/caregivers in self-management, self-efficacy and behavior change. Is trained and assigned (as per their role and responsibilities) to manage the practices' patient population. Participates in the practice's quality improvement process and performance evaluation. Must be familiar with basic patient care and MRI exam procedures concerning patients requiring anesthesia or conscious sedation. Must be familiar with conventional MRI invasive procedures. The employee must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide comprehensive care appropriate to the age of the patients seen in the MRI Department. The employee must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the unit's policies and procedures.

Requirements

A graduate of an ARRT approved radiologic technology program.
ARRT (R) Certified
1 year of experience in MRI
Medical and/or hospital clinical experience
Basic computer experience (1-2 years work experience or college level classes)
Prior experience in MRI or an intensive on the job training session in MRI is required before taking call.
ARRT certified (compliant with all continuing education mandates)
BLS completed prior to going to the unit/ department and maintained going forward
Completion of 4 Hours of Erlanger Online Education specific to Total Ankle, Hip, and Knee Replacement upon hire (will be assigned by Department Leadership and/or Educator).
