The MRI Technologist performs a variety of complex diagnostic MRI procedures, with the primary responsibility of completing diagnostic studies from inception to completion under the direction of the radiologist. This includes performing routine MRIs and MRAs, taking accurate verbal patient histories, and starting IVs to administer IV contrast. The technologist is responsible for maintaining a positive imaging environment for patients and acting as a patient liaison to the radiologist. The role also involves performing quality assurance checks on equipment, ensuring proper MRI safety standards are met, and operating required equipment according to established guidelines and protocols.
