About The Position

Scotland Health Care System is seeking a dedicated MRI Technologist to join their team at Scotland Memorial Hospital. This full-time position involves performing all MRI scans, ensuring proper patient positioning, technique selection, and administration of contrast media according to department policies. The role also includes explaining procedures to patients and families, reviewing safety protocols, updating patient records, maintaining inventory, and demonstrating age-specific competency across various patient age groups. The technologist will also be responsible for transporting patients as needed.

Requirements

  • Eligible for, or possession of, a valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.

  • One To Three Years Experience Preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs all MRI scans, demonstrating anatomy under investigation through proper patient positioning, technique selection, administration of contrast media, application of immobilization and radiation protection devices according to department policy and procedures.
  • Receives consultation request, checking for special instructions from the requesting physician. Consults with the Radiologist as necessary.
  • Pleasantly greets patients, confirming their identification and introduces self. Completely explains examination procedure to the patient and his/her family if present.
  • Reviews all MRI safety procedures with patients, family, and non-MRI associates.
  • Updates patient examination history file, records unusual conditions/limitations, documents examination time, and technique factors, contrast media injections.
  • Completes examination, consultation, and billing procedures as required. Performs other paperwork as required.
  • Maintains necessary inventory of supplies for assigned room or work station, rotating stock in an orderly fashion, and eliminating outdated items.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of human growth and development through the life span of the patient and has the ability to meet the needs of and provide the care of these patients.
  • Transport patients as needed.
