About The Position

Envision Imaging is seeking a part-time MRI Technologist to join our Cleburne, TX location. This role involves performing MRI procedures according to protocol and age-specific needs, including patient preparation. The technologist will maintain and monitor the patient environment, adhere to safety procedures, and contribute to the security and maintenance of the unit. The position requires interfacing with patients to ascertain medical history, explain procedures, and screen for implants and allergies. The technologist will also obtain prior films, perform high-quality scans, coordinate scan protocols with the Radiologist, and maintain equipment. Communication with the Lead Technologist and Center/Area Manager regarding departmental concerns is also a key function. This role operates in an environmentally controlled outpatient clinical environment with potential exposure to radiation, bodily fluids, and other conditions common to a medical office. It often requires work in cool, dimly lighted rooms.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Registered Technologist program
  • Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification with Registry in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) or current American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT)
  • Current license from state medical board (if applicable)
  • Current CPR certification
  • Ability to educate patients on procedures being performed
  • Detail oriented, self-motivated, a problem solver and a team player
  • Ability to navigate multiple computer screens and browsers quickly and accurately
  • Ability to excel in a very fast-pace team environment
  • Ability to continuously “exceed” company and customer expectation
  • Strong communication skills & professional demeanor

Nice To Haves

  • Two plus years’ experience in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)

Responsibilities

  • Interfaces with patient to ascertain medical history and provides instructions and explanation of the procedure and/or exam to obtain the best possible image.
  • Reviews patient charts for missed clinical information and/or consent. Screens patients for surgical and other implants, contrast allergies, etc.
  • Obtains prior films/exams as needed and performs high quality scans to submit to the Radiologist for interpretation.
  • Performs exams while attending to patient’s care before, during and following exam and notifies the appropriate party if patient’s condition changes at any time.
  • Transfers images to other locations as needed.
  • Coordinates scan protocols with Radiologist.
  • Maintains and regularly inspects equipment and immediately reports any quality concerns as well as equipment failures or deficiencies.
  • Interfaces with Lead Technologist & Center/Area Manager regarding any and all departmental concerns.
  • Other duties as assigned.
