About The Position

Under limited supervision, magnetic resonance exams and procedures are performed under the medical direction of the radiologist in a highly technical and professional manner. This role involves the daily operations of MR exams and procedures on a scheduled shift, including emergency callback, weekends, or holidays as assigned. The technologist will operate equipment safely and knowledgeably, providing care to neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Effective and timely communication with patients, staff, radiologists, students, and management is essential. The role also includes patient/family/caregiver education, utilizing the correct process for patient identification (right patient, right exam, right time), and participating in QA activities and maintaining relevant documentation.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of an accredited two-year Imaging Technology program (ARRT) or ARMRIT certified.
  • Maintains active registry status.
  • Completion of the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Mandatory Reporter training specific to the population served within three (3) months of hire.
  • Maintains Basic Life Support qualification

Nice To Haves

  • Previous MR experience preferred.
  • MR credential (ARRT or AMRIT) preferred.

  • Participates as directed in QA activities, maintains current relevant documentation.
