About The Position

This is a PRN MRI Technologist role at our Arnett Hospital location. The role involves possessing knowledge of MRI safety and safety zones, reviewing patient history and screening for safety concerns (ferromagnetic objects, implanted devices, etc.), and educating patients on what to expect and ensuring their safety and comfort during their scan. The technologist will obtain IV access, prepare and administer contrast, and be familiar with recognizing and responding to adverse contrast events. The position requires advanced knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and ensuring the MRI environment remains safe by screening all visitors and team members entering the MRI environment. The technologist will display knowledge of scanning protocols and adjust to ensure diagnostic images, perform routine QC, and ensure equipment is functioning properly. Collaboration with radiologists and referring physicians, documentation in EMR, and assistance with minimally invasive procedures as needed are also part of the role. This role is for upcoming diagnostic radiology technologist graduates or recent graduates and is posted through a pipeline requisition.

Requirements

  • 0-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
  • Requires ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
  • Requires advanced certification through one of the following: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists: Registered Technologist - Magnetic Resonance, RT(MR) ; or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT): Registered Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (RMRIT) , within 12 months of hire.
  • May require license from Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH), if applicable.

Nice To Haves

  • MRI experience is preferred.
  • May be required to meet registry/certification requirements for another modality, if applicable.
