About The Position

Under direction of the Manager, a Lead MRI technologist supports daily operations, scheduling needs, serves as a point person for departmental workflows and compliance expectations, supports precepting and onboarding of new employees, and other duties as assigned. Performs all duties and responsibilities of a MR Technologist: Performs MRI studies under the direction of a radiologist. This individual interacts with imaging staff, nursing, physicians, patients and visitors. Acts as a resource person for technical and safety related needs. Demonstrates competence according to specific guidelines and prescribed protocols. Operates and prepares MRI scanner and MRI specific equipment, maintains images and archives associated with patient data.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of MRI technologist experience is required.
  • Graduate of a JRCERT, JRCMNT, or JRCDMS approved program is required.
  • Completes Level II MR Safety training.
  • Ability and demonstrated competence in IV insertion and contrast injection.
  • Ability to assimilate new procedures into work routine is required.
  • Primary credential through ARDMS, ARRT, ARMRIT or NMTCB is required.
  • Advanced Certification through ARMRIT or ARRT(MR) is required within 18 months of hire.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) is required within 90 days of hire date.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 5 years of MRI technologist experience is preferred.
  • 2-4 years of college/university coursework and/or an undergraduate degree in a healthcare related field is preferred.
