About The Position

This position has developed the required knowledge to produce quality diagnostic MRI exams in a safe and timely manner in conjunction with quality patient care. The role involves performing diagnostic scans as directed by Radiologists, using correct scan protocols to optimize image quality, and properly screening patients, families, and staff for MRI contraindications. The technologist must adhere to all safety recommendations regarding MRI, maintain the work area, and troubleshoot malfunctioning equipment. Compliance with all TJC, state, federal, and local regulatory laws, standards, and protocols is required. This is a full-time position (32 hrs/wk) with a $10K sign-on bonus and is eligible for the Student Loan Repayment Program.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college program or technical school or nursing diploma
  • 2 years of direct experience
  • One of the following license or registry is required: ARRT – MRI Specialist - American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT) or MRI Technician Certification - American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT)
  • Must be able to produce quality diagnostic MRI exams in a safe and timely manner.
  • Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of patient positioning and coil selection.
  • Must be able to properly screen patients, families, and staff with attention to pregnancy and MRI contraindications.
  • Must adhere to all safety recommendations regarding MRI.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot and report malfunctioning equipment.
  • Must comply with all TJC, state, federal, and local regulatory laws, standards, and protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Performs diagnostic scans as directed by Radiologists.

  • Troubleshoots and reports malfunctioning equipment.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
