About The Position

This position has developed the required knowledge to produce quality diagnostic MRI exams in a safe and timely manner in conjunction with quality patient care. The role involves performing diagnostic scans as directed by Radiologists, using correct scan protocols to optimize image quality while decreasing scan length and repeat procedures, and demonstrating knowledge of patient positioning and coil selection. The technologist will properly screen patients, families, and staff with attention to pregnancy and MRI contraindications, and adhere to all safety recommendations regarding MRI. The work area must be properly maintained, and the ability to troubleshoot and report malfunctioning equipment is essential. Compliance with all TJC, state, federal, and local regulatory laws, standards, and protocols is required. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college program or technical school or nursing diploma
  • Direct - 2 years of experience
  • 1 of the following license or registry is required
  • Knowledge of skills to performs diagnostic scans as directed by Radiologists.
  • Developed knowledge to use correct scan protocols in an effort to optimize image quality while decreasing scan length and repeat procedures, demonstrates knowledge of patient positioning and coil selection.
  • Developed knowledge to properly screen patients, families, and staff with attention to pregnancy and MRI contraindications.
  • Developed knowledge about and adheres to all safety recommendations regarding MRI.
  • Ensures that work area is properly maintained.
  • Has developed the ability to troubleshoot and report malfunctioning equipment.
  • Complies with all TJC, state, federal, and local regulatory laws, standards, and protocols.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university
  • Direct - Pediatric experience
  • ARRT – MRI Specialist - American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT)
  • MRI Technician Certification - American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT)
