About The Position

UVA Imaging is seeking an experienced MRI Technologist to join their outpatient imaging team in Charlottesville, VA. This full-time position offers a supportive environment focused on quality imaging and exceptional patient care, with no call and no overnight shifts. The role involves performing routine and advanced MRI exams, ensuring patient safety, operating MRI equipment, administering contrast, monitoring patients, explaining procedures, producing high-quality images, and collaborating with radiologists and clinical team members. Accurate documentation and maintaining a safe work environment are also key responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Up to 5 years experience as a MRI Technologist
  • Must have a minimum Associates Degree in Radiology or be a graduate of an accredited two-year radiology program.
  • Must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiography, or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMIT) and maintain current valid registration from ARRT or ARMIT.
  • MR advanced registration through ARRT or ARMIT is required upon hire for IDTF centers. Non-IDTF centers require MR advanced registry within the first 12 months of employment.
  • Additionally, must meet the state licensure requirement for the state in which they practice.
  • Knowledge of routine to complex MRI procedures and protocols.
  • Skill in operation of MRI equipment as well as applicable ancillary equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and multitask.
  • Ability to provide documentation accurately and concisely.
  • Demonstrates understanding of human cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, pathology, radiopharmacology, and medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of computer applications, including information and billing systems, keyboard input, digital archiving, and retrieving of data.
