About The Position

In this role you will perform routine and advanced MRI procedures in accordance with physician orders and imaging protocols. You will explain procedures to patients, ensuring comfort, cooperation, and safety throughout the exam. You will properly screen patients for MRI contraindications, including implants, pacemakers, and metal objects. You will position patients accurately and use appropriate coils and techniques to obtain high-quality diagnostic images. You will operate MRI scanners and associated equipment, troubleshooting technical issues when necessary. You will monitor patients during imaging, responding promptly to discomfort or medical needs. You will maintain accurate documentation and enter data into PACS and electronic medical records (EMR). You will adhere to MRI safety protocols, including maintaining Zone 4 safety standards and reporting safety concerns. You will assist with contrast administration under physician or radiologist supervision, following all guidelines. You will participate in quality assurance, continuing education, and equipment maintenance routines. Requirements

  • Completion of an approved school of radiologic technology required
  • 2 years general radiologic technologist experience
  • Registered with the ARRT as an RT(R)
  • Registered in MR within 1 year of hire beginning June 2005
  • Completion of MRI safety officer course and obtained certification within 1 year of hire required
  • BLS certification required or obtained within 1 month of hire
