Operates magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce cross-sectional images of patient's body for diagnostic purposes. This role involves interviewing patients, explaining procedures, obtaining pertinent exam history, and verifying patient safety for MRI procedures. The technologist will position patients, ensure their comfort, monitor their safety and comfort during the scan, and communicate effectively using the microphone system. They will perform studies according to protocols, review images for quality, gain IV access, and verify patient data and exam accuracy. Proficiency with RIS, PACS, and CD burning software is required, along with the ability to import outside CDs. Maintaining a safe work area according to ACR White Paper on MR Safety is crucial. The role requires the ability to work independently and in team situations, with potential attendance at meetings and training sessions outside regular working hours.
