About The Position

The MRI Technologist performs and supervises all activities of Magnetic Resonance Imaging procedures and assures accuracy in securing MRIs ordered by physicians for diagnostic purposes. He/She ensures that the Radiology department meets accreditation/organization standards and achieves the SRHS objectives. The MRI Technologist assists with the development and revision of policies, procedures, and protocols as requested. The MRI Technologist operates equipment requiring detailed concentration for extended periods of time, stocks an adequate inventory of supplies at all times, and maintains quality control of procedures and quality assurance of equipment.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited, state approved, School of Radiologic Technology required.
  • Must be currently registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Must maintain a minimum of 24 ECE points in each two (2) year period as required by the ARRT in Radiology.
  • Licensed by the Mississippi State Department of Health required.
  • Must complete and maintain BCLS certification upon hire and/or transfer.
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a Technologist in Radiology required.
  • Proficient knowledge and ability to use a computer (must be keyboard proficient) and other office technology (i.e., telephone, fax, etc.), MS Outlook and Word.
  • Must be able to demonstrate appropriate clinical judgment and apply appropriate professional skills to a patient population of all ages.

Nice To Haves

  • MRI registry preferred.
  • MRI experience preferred.
