About The Position

Performs Magnetic Resonance Imaging procedures on patients of all ages at a technical level requiring no constant supervision of technical detail. Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgement with ingenuity and initiative. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required. Responsible for ensuring the MRI safety of patients, staff and visitors as it relates to Magnetism. Allied health is among the fastest growing occupations in healthcare today. Requirements

  • LIC-American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Licensure-Others
  • Relevant Work Experience
  • Graduate of an approved discipline specific program

Responsibilities

  • Capable of operating all MRI equipment, perform all basic MRI procedures, operate the PACS and utilize radiographic supplies per department standards
  • Identifies each patient, reviews orders for consistency (examination ordered/clinical diagnosis)
  • Participates in after-hours coverage in the MRI Department
  • Reviews each examination for technical accuracy, presents completed examination to Radiologist and communicates pertinent data to persons responsible for the care of the patient following the procedure
  • Demonstrates ability to organize patient care and set priorities by providing critical care first and by implementing the physician’s order
  • Understands and applies all necessary components of ordering, administering and disposing of contrast media while ensuring patient and staff safety
  • Implements care in a knowledgeable, skillful, consistent and continuous manner to ensure the delivery of quality care according to age specific guidelines ranging from infancy to geriatrics
  • Adheres to all department/Hospital safety procedures for patient and material handling
  • Demonstrates an understanding of and adherence to Compliance and Ethics Program
