About The Position

The Technologist Trainee learns the safety, customer service skills, documentation and operation of Radiology through on-the job training under the direction of a registered technologist. Specific duties include, but are not limited to: Conducts pre-screening of all personnel before entering the magnet room to ensure their safety. Scans and documents patients under the direction of a registered technologist to meet all customer (if applicable) and Akumin requirements. Completes necessary documentation for patient files to ensure all customer, Akumin policy and Joint Commission requirements are met. Other job duties as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Successful completion of a Radiology School.
  • Certificate from College or Technical School.
  • Certified by ARRT, ARMRIT, NMTCB or ARDMS.
  • Continuing education of the structure component to the Radiology exam.
  • State issued Radiologic Technologist License, if applicable.
  • CPR certification.
  • Valid state driver’s license, if applicable.
  • Ability to work at several locations.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • 5% Travel may be required.
  • The COVID-19 vaccination is/may be a condition of employment.
  • All candidates who accept an offer for employment will be required to successfully complete a pre-employment background check and drug screen as a condition of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's Degree.
  • Certificate from College or Technical School.
  • Completion of a Radiology Program.
  • Successfully demonstrate proficiency running advanced Radiology studies independently
  • Technical proficiency using diagnostic imaging equipment
  • Possession of venipuncture certification, or ability to secure within 3 months, if required by customer/contract
