About The Position

Works within a team environment assisting the Radiologic Technologist in the performance of radiologic procedures. Reports to the Director of Radiology or their designee.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent experience required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology required.
  • Experience with personal computers and windows applications
  • Good organizational, communication, and customer relations skills.
  • Telephone courtesy.
  • Hospital experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Radiology experience desired.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in setting up and breaking down equipment.
  • Performs room set-up by gathering appropriate supplies and equipment according to established protocol.
  • Assists with moving and positioning patients.
  • Assists in the stocking and cleaning of procedure rooms.
  • Assists in the coordination of patient flow through the department.
  • Anticipates patient flow timing and arranges for patient to be properly gowned prior to exam.
  • Completes patient screening protocols prior to initiation of procedure.
  • Participates in the "call report" process.
  • Is knowledgeable about the TeleRadiology system and sends films as requested.
  • Demonstrates the knowledge and ability to work within the Medical Center's computer system.
  • Maintains computer security.
  • Produces schedules, and assist the technologist in the documentation of performed procedures.
  • Promptly answers the telephone in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Demonstrates the knowledge and ability to utilize various telephone applications but not limited to forwarding and establishing conference calls.
  • Prescreens patients for MRI procedure
  • Documents patients exams in HIS
  • Verify and complete exams in Pacs system
  • Has general knowledge of the Medical Center's departments and how these departments interact with each other. Interacts with physician and physician's offices in a positive and courteous manner.
  • Establishes and maintains collaborative working relationships with other health team members.
  • May perform other duties as requested by supervisor/manager which contributes to the smooth operation of the department.
  • Demonstrates reliability in the conscientious, complete and accurate manner in which work assignments are performed.
  • Demonstrates Quality Improvement principles in daily work and participates in QI monitoring and reporting.
  • Demonstrates flexibility in work schedule to meet the needs of the department.
  • Demonstrates the ability to perform multiple tasks as required by the position.
  • Continuously utilizes time to maximize full potential, sets priorities and is uses good organizational skills.
  • Functions within an awareness of risk management and safety issues, reports concerns appropriately.
  • Maintains complete understanding of the Medical Center's emergency codes. Understands role in emergency situations.
  • Is accountable for own actions.
  • Maintains professional behavior and appearance. Wears Medical Center's ID Badge.
  • Maintains and respects patients and patient confidentiality.
  • Addresses internal and external customers in a pleasant and respectful manner, displaying courtesy at all times.
  • Attends staff meetings.
  • Attends mandatory in servicing and educational programs as required by the department and/or Medical Center.
