About The Position

Function Health is building a next-generation imaging network where clinical precision meets operational excellence. As an MRI Specialist, you will serve as a central force in elevating imaging quality across all partnered imaging facilities. This role operates at the intersection of clinical expertise, systems optimization, and education. You will be responsible for designing and standardizing protocols, solving complex safety scenarios, and mentoring technologists, directly shaping the quality and consistency of MRI across a multi-site, multi-vendor environment. This is a hybrid role combining remote clinical oversight with on-site engagement, including travel to onboard new facilities and ensuring sustained imaging excellence.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as an MRI Technologist
  • ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification
  • Strong expertise in MRI protocols and image optimization
  • Excellent communication and training skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams
  • Proven ability to adapt across diverse clinical environments and systems
  • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to clinical excellence and MRI safety

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with at least two MRI vendors (e.g. Siemens, GE, Philips, United, etc)
  • MR Safety Officer (MRSO) certification
  • CT experience is a plus
  • Comfortable with a hybrid schedule of working from home with ~30–40% travel

Responsibilities

  • Onboard new imaging sites, including protocol implementation and hands-on technologist training
  • Review and refine MRI protocols across multiple vendors (Siemens, GE, Philips, Canon, etc.)
  • Optimize scan parameters to achieve superior image quality while maintaining efficiency
  • Drive standardization while adapting to site-specific constraints
  • Evaluate implant and device cases to ensure MRI safety
  • Promote and uphold MRI safety best practices across all sites
  • Conduct routine image quality audits and protocol reviews
  • Track and improve key performance metrics, including repeat rates, scan quality, and protocol adherence
  • Identify trends and implement solutions to elevate clinical performance
  • Develop and maintain SOPs, training materials, and internal knowledge resources
  • Build structured training programs for technologists across partner sites
  • Utilize DICOM and imaging workflow knowledge to troubleshoot and streamline data transfer issues
  • Partner with internal teams to improve interoperability, efficiency, and system reliability
  • Work closely with operations, technical and medical teams to continuously improve imaging workflows and outcomes
