MRI Radiology Assistant
About The Position
Greet, room, and escort orthopedic patients before and after imaging exams. Prepare patients for imaging procedures (gowning, positioning assistance, removing braces/splints as directed). Assist MRI technologists with patient positioning, transfers, and mobility support. Clean and reset imaging rooms between patients following infection control standards. Stock imaging rooms with linens, positioning aids, lead shields, and orthopedic supplies. Assist with basic cast room support (transport, setup, cleanup) when applicable. Verify patient information, orders, and documentation in EMR/RIS. Coordinate imaging flow with clinical staff, providers, and front desk. Answer phones and assist with scheduling or patient questions as assigned. Maintain HIPAA compliance and follow OSHA, radiation safety, and clinic policies.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Excellent patient service and communication skills
- Comfortable working with patients experiencing pain or limited mobility
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced outpatient environment
- Team-oriented, dependable, and professional
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience in an orthopedic, radiology, or outpatient clinical setting preferred
- Knowledge of orthopedic terminology and anatomy a plus
