MRI Patient Access Representative - Full Time
About The Position
The MRI Patient Access Representative is responsible for all aspects of the registration process, patient collections, and scanning documents into the EMR system. We are looking for a friendly, organized, and detail-oriented MRI Patient Access Representative to support daily front desk operations for our imaging team. This role helps patients schedule appointments, complete registration, understand payment expectations, and access medical records. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare environment and enjoys providing excellent service to patients, providers, and coworkers. This position will be located in the Golden MRI office but may float to all of the Panorama locations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Two years of medical office or customer service experience preferred.
- Strong computer, communication, interpersonal, hospitality, and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, remain calm under pressure, and work with minimal supervision.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of EMR systems, especially EPIC, is a plus.
- Knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA requirements is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Schedule MRI, CT, follow-up, and X-ray-only appointments as needed.
- Assist patients with registration, paperwork, appointment questions, and check-in support.
- Verify insurance authorizations and follow up as needed to help patients access care in a timely manner.
- Create patient estimates and explain benefit information clearly and professionally.
- Collect patient balances before or at the time of service.
- Use third-party systems to send and receive imaging studies from outside facilities.
- Prepare CDs for patients while following HIPAA and medical release requirements.
- Provide courteous, timely service to patients, coworkers, supervisors, and physicians.
- Float to other Panorama offices.
- May assist with moving or supporting patients as they turn, stand, or walk with assistance.
- Assist patients with changing and getting ready for their MRI exam, following safety and privacy guidelines.
