About The Position

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program with certification in MRI and CT imaging.
  • Current certification and registration as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) or equivalent recognized credential.
  • Valid state of Oregon licensure to perform MRI and CT imaging in the United States.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and imaging principles relevant to MRI and CT technologies.
  • Strong understanding of radiation safety and patient care standards.
  • Technical skills daily to operate complex imaging machinery, ensuring precise image acquisition that meets diagnostic requirements.
  • Strong communication skills are essential for explaining procedures to patients and collaborating effectively with healthcare teams.
  • Attention to detail is critical when positioning patients and adjusting imaging parameters to produce clear, accurate images while minimizing radiation exposure.
  • Problem-solving skills are applied when troubleshooting equipment issues or adapting protocols for unique patient needs.
  • Organizational skills support accurate documentation and compliance with regulatory standards, contributing to seamless workflow and high-quality patient care.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional certifications such as Certified Radiology Administrator (CRA) or advanced MRI/CT specialty certifications.
  • Experience working in a hospital or outpatient imaging center with diverse patient populations.
  • Proficiency with advanced imaging software and picture archiving and communication systems (PACS).
  • Strong interpersonal skills with experience in patient education and support.
  • Bilingual abilities or experience working with culturally diverse communities.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and position patients appropriately for MRI and CT scans, explaining procedures to alleviate patient anxiety and ensure cooperation.
  • Operate MRI and CT imaging equipment to capture diagnostic images according to prescribed protocols and physician orders.
  • Monitor patients during imaging procedures to ensure safety and respond promptly to any adverse reactions or emergencies.
  • Maintain and calibrate imaging equipment regularly to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.
  • Collaborate with radiologists to review image quality and make necessary adjustments to imaging techniques.
  • Document patient information, imaging procedures, and observations accurately in electronic health records.
  • Adhere strictly to radiation safety guidelines and infection control protocols to protect patients, staff, and self.
  • Participate in continuing education and training to stay current with technological advancements and best practices in imaging.
