About The Position

CoxHealth is seeking a dedicated MR Technologist to operate Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanners at the Martin Center. This role involves ensuring all MRI safety guidelines are followed, including understanding and practicing safety zones. The technologist will be responsible for interviewing and screening patients to determine exam appropriateness and document patient history. They will also explain MRI procedures to patients and their families to ensure the success of the exam. A key responsibility includes administering appropriate contrast media intravenously and evaluating images to guarantee the quality and diagnostic accuracy of the exam. This position is for the Evening Shift, with scheduled weekly hours of 40.

Requirements

  • Graduate of ARRT accredited program in Radiologic Technology OR Graduate of ARRT accredited program in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (primary pathway) with ARRT-MR certification
  • 1 year dedicated experience in MRI or Graduate of an approved MRI training program and Registry Eligible
  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills.
  • Knowledge of current MR technical information.
  • Proficient in using computers and computer systems.
  • Excellent time management, interpersonal, presentation, organization, prioritizing, decision-making, and planning skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in teams.
  • R.T. (R) (ARRT) for non-primary pathway graduates (not required with completion of primary pathway program)
  • R.T. (R) (MR) (ARRT)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Radiology
  • Certification in ARRT MR

Responsibilities

  • Operate Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanner(s) within all guidelines of MRI safety.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of MRI safety zones and practice all safety guidelines.
  • Interview/screen patient for appropriateness of exam and patient history and document such accurately.
  • Explain MRI procedures to patient/family for ultimate success of exam.
  • Administer appropriate contrast media intravenously.
  • Accurately evaluate images to ensure quality and diagnostic status of exam.
