About The Position

Works collaboratively with physicists and radiologists as the key contact for MRI safety and safety related inquiries. Interacts with staff, providers, patients and visitors for issue resolution, customer service, performance improvement and multi-level communication around MRI Safety. Works in conjunction with MR Leaders, Radiologists, physicists and others to initiate and develop safety practices and protocols. Mentors residents and new medical personnel. Demonstrates above average skills with regard to performing routine and advanced diagnostic MRI procedures, recommending changes and improvements as related to safety improvements. Reports directly to the MRI Modality Manager, dotted line to all organization MRI Managers.

Requirements

  • Five years minimum experience as an MRI Technologist.
  • Graduate of an JCERT approved two-year radiologic technology program.
  • ARRT Certification in Radiologic Technology.
  • ARRT Certification in Magnetic Resonance.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent within 3 months of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Two or four year college degree in radiologic technology, healthcare, business or other related degree.
  • MRSO certificate preferred within 12 months of hire, but required within 18 months based on ABMRS exam schedule.
  • MRSO comprehensive program completion is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the key contact for MRI safety and safety-related inquiries, collaborating with physicists and radiologists.
  • Interact with staff, providers, patients, and visitors for issue resolution, customer service, performance improvement, and communication regarding MRI Safety.
  • Initiate and develop safety practices and protocols in conjunction with MR Leaders, Radiologists, physicists, and others.
  • Mentor residents and new medical personnel.
  • Perform routine and advanced diagnostic MRI procedures, recommending safety-related changes and improvements.
