The Boeing Company is seeking a 2nd shift motivated collaborative associate or experienced Composites M&P (Materials and Processes) Engineer to join our Composite Materials Fabrication Site in Mesa, Arizona. Why you’ll love this role Work in a casual, professional environment with multi-disciplinary engineering teams who deliver cutting‑edge aerospace solutions Split your time between office, lab, and production floor—see ideas move from test to flight Influence real products on advanced and proprietary air platforms Clear paths for long-term career growth into technical leadership or management Use your curiosity and technical grit to solve meaningful manufacturing challenges every day Ensure the efficient production of our world-class aerospace products, including advanced platforms for our Air Proprietary programs What you’ll do Apply chemistry, physics, and material science to develop and qualify composite materials and processing methods Provide technical evaluation and material and process support to composite part fabrication Perform root-cause investigations and implement corrective & preventive actions for material and process issues Create and execute test plans, write reports and input to specifications for materials, tools, and processes Qualify and approve equipment, materials and processes Guide material testing in the Materials & Processes Laboratory Coordinate with other disciplines such as Design Engineering, Production Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, and Procurement Travel to suppliers as needed Integrate new technologies and promote standardization across product lines Manage test/audit programs, ensure regulatory and contractual compliance, and incorporate EHS, LEAN, and Quality principles into your work This role is full-time 2nd shift and is expected to be 100% onsite (12:30 pm – 10:00 pm)

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 1+ years of experience in engineering
  • Able to work full-time 2nd shift.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • Final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
  • Special Program Access or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ years working with composites, elastomers, and associated processing techniques (Level 2 or 3 applies based on years of experience).
  • Level 2: Bachelor’s + ~2 years’ related experience (or equivalent advanced degree/experience).
  • Level 3: Bachelor’s + ~5 years’ related experience (or equivalent advanced degree/experience).
  • Possess DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Hands-on lab experience with polymer chemistry analytical techniques.
  • Familiarity with materials such as epoxy, cyanate ester, bismaleimide, urethane, polyimide, reinforcements, and adhesives.
  • Experience with composite failure modes (structural and nonstructural) and failure analysis.
  • Experience in technical specifications, reports, and test plans
  • Comfortable reading engineering drawings and using Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in creating and delivering technical presentations and briefings
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team-based environment
