You'll get the satisfaction of making great products people use and love. The Steel Scheduler is a critical role responsible for obtaining raw materials and scheduling them at Michigan Assembly. This position will enable you to take on the challenges of delivering cost, quality, and delivery targets for steel materials. In this dynamic environment, you will be developing key relationships within Ford supply chain, engineering, programs, finance, and with our key raw material suppliers.

Requirements

  • HS diploma or GED
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in automotive manufacturing systems (e.g., CMMS, OnTrack, SharePoint).
  • Ability to interpret complex data sets and problem-solve.
  • Strong ability to communicate to production teams and suppliers.
  • Strong data skills needed to be able to demonstrate current and future scheduling needs.
  • Proven ability to resolve errors and discrepancies in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, Business or similar
  • 4+ years of related experience in an automotive manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with Engineering Change Control (FAP02-057) and Quality Verification Systems (VOPQUG-265).

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed scheduling of the press room while maintaining plant capacity.
  • Maintain inventory levels and track shortages.
  • Order steel coils and blanks.
  • Report out and work with production on scheduling requirements.
  • Assist in the tracking and closure of material shortages.
  • Engage suppliers while holding them accountable for all aspects of product quality, cost and delivery.
  • Coordinate spot buys for any engineering changes or trial runs.
  • Manage current and future bill of materials as needed.
  • Conduct constraint reviews and coordinate with production on the optimal press schedule.
  • Identify bottle necks in the manufacturing process.
  • Support decision making with publication of daily Scheduling reports and Delivery Scorecards.
  • Participate in production report outs and supplier reviews.
  • Coordinate and lead changes through the production process.
  • Coordinate all changes during model year balance outs, pre-builds, and launches.
