About The Position

As a Contents Mover & Pack Out Technician, you will be responsible for the professional and safe handling of customers' personal belongings. This role involves packing, inventorying, moving, and hauling items from residential and commercial properties affected by disaster. You will also provide restoration support through specialized cleaning and general on-location cleaning. Logistics and site management are key, including preparing the work vehicle, performing cleanup, and maintaining equipment. This position requires strong customer interaction skills, organizational abilities, technical proficiency, and flexibility in work schedule due to emergency response needs.

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact respectfully and empathetically with homeowners and business owners daily.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management and ability to meet project deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving and prompt decision-making ability.
  • Must possess an understanding of Microsoft Office, Google Suite functions, and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) programs for documentation.
  • Must have a flexible schedule and be able to work some nights or extended hours as dictated by emergency response needs.
  • Must be able to move and carry construction materials and supplies weighing in excess of 50 pounds on occasion.
  • Requires the ability to stand, walk, lift, squat, crawl, and crouch.
  • Use of ladders will be required for cleaning and packing items above ground level.
  • Must be willing to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including suits, masks, and gloves, in certain circumstances (e.g., mold or biohazard situations).
  • Valid Driver's License and clean driving record (required to drive company truck).
  • Pass a background check requirement as we work on insurance claims through various carriers.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in moving, packing, or contents restoration is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Professionally pack and safely move personal items and contents from residential and commercial properties affected by disaster.
  • Thoroughly document and inventory items during the pack-out process using photos and tablet software.
  • Use moving equipment and packing materials to load and unload items/boxes onto trucks and trailers.
  • Move boxes and furniture to enable the cleanup and restoration of the property structure.
  • Properly unload trailers and ensure the secure placement of items in the warehouse using wood vaults, racking, and palletizing techniques.
  • Drive and operate a large box truck (CDL not required).
  • Perform specialized content cleaning at the warehouse (washing dishware, laundry, etc.).
  • Conduct general on-location cleaning as required (wipe down surfaces, clean windows, etc.).
  • Inventory and load the work vehicle with all necessary equipment, products, and supplies for each project.
  • Perform end-of-day/end-of-job cleanup and breakdown, ensuring the jobsite is left clean and orderly.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work vehicle and professional appearance of all equipment.
