About The Position

The Baillie Group is a cohesive, unified group of hardwood producers working cooperatively together with each retaining their distinctive and valued cultural identities. Baillie Lumber's Sherburne Rip Line is looking to add a motivated Moulder Operator to join their team. Located in the beautiful Upstate, NY area, Baillie Lumber is a leading commercial finished hardwood manufacturer experiencing exponential growth, producing a variety of building products for numerous industry sectors. They are seeking a skilled Moulder Operator to fill a full-time 2nd shift position within one of the country's leading hardwood manufacturers. The primary responsibility of a Moulder Operator is to efficiently and safely operate a new state of the art moulder while producing S4S blanks & profiles. An operator in this position is expected to work in a hands-on fashion, to take ownership of the quality and quantity of product produced during his/her shift and to be actively involved in continual process improvements. The successful employee in this position will be a self-starter receiving general supervision. Baillie Lumber Co. is one of North America's largest hardwood lumber manufacturers, distributors and exporters, providing hardwood logs, hardwood lumber and proprietary grade hardwood lumber products.

Requirements

  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Previous experience as a machine operator
  • Detail oriented with attention to exact measurements
  • Self-motivated, organized and able to multi-task
  • Great attitude
  • Willingness to work overtime
  • Standing for long periods of time, bending and stooping
  • Employment is contingent on successfully passing a physical examination, including drug screening

Responsibilities

  • Capable of working efficiently/safe as well as keeping a high level of precision is key to this position
  • Ability to work independently
  • Setup and operation of moulder with the ability to follow instructions and examine finished products
  • Measure dimensions of finished products to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments
  • Adherence to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures

  • 2nd Shift hours - Monday - Thursday 2:30pm - 1am
  • Minimum - Anticipated Maximum Salary: $20 - $25/hour
  • $1.75 shift differential for 2nd shift
