About The Position

The Motor Winder Apprentice is an entry-level technician learning the motor winding trade which includes stripping wire windings, calculating, creating, and installing new coils, and making connections. This role involves removing old windings from motor cores, cleaning and prepping motors, calculating, shaping, and winding new coils, and dipping wound motors in varnish and baking them in industrial ovens. Regular in-person attendance is required, and the employee must keep the facility clean and orderly. Occasionally, the apprentice may be asked to perform other functions not specifically detailed in this posting.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Dependable and have a desire to learn
  • Detail oriented and takes pride in their work

Responsibilities

  • Removing old windings from motor cores, and cleaning and prepping the motors.
  • Calculate, shape, and wind new coils.
  • Dip wound motors in varnish and bake in industrial ovens
  • Keep the facility clean and orderly
