The Motor Vehicle Technician is an entry-level, non-supervisory position in the motor vehicle job series. Working under close, direct supervision, the Technician provides customer service to the public, obtains and provides information to outside organizations, and performs clerical and administrative duties. The role processes Colorado motor vehicle titles, registrations, related documents, validation of tabs, placards, and temporary license permits, and requires training in applicable policies, procedures, processes, statutes, legislation, and fees. The Technician also handles payments and cash balancing, maintains records and confidentiality, conducts research on legal documents, and may provide office support to the Department Head/Official and Deputy. The position is regular full-time, 40 hours per week, typically 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Work is primarily in a standard office environment, at the Glenwood Springs location and/or Rifle location, with possible travel between those locations during the workday. Occasional work outside the established workweek, including after hours or weekends, may be needed. The role requires a pre-employment criminal background check, employment verification, and motor vehicle record check. Employment is contingent on successful completion of these checks.
