Requirements

  • Two years of experience in an automotive repair related field such as: service writer/advisor; technical manual writer; automotive tool and equipment salesman/serviceman; auto mechanic; or auto shop foreman
  • High school diploma or any equivalent combination of experience and training
  • Possess a Class C non-commercial driver's license
  • Possess a Pennsylvania Certified Inspection Mechanic Certificate
  • Reside in Mifflin or Franklin Counties or surrounding counties or be willing to relocate to this area
  • Able to perform essential job functions

Responsibilities

  • Conduct administrative, investigative, and covert audits of approved inspection stations
  • Examine station documentation to verify proper use of certificates and compliance with regulations
  • Identify potential violations or fraudulent activity and report findings to management when necessary
  • Review safety and emissions training schools to ensure approved curriculum and proper instruction
  • Assess concerns from law enforcement or customers regarding inspection practices
  • Provide information on safety inspection requirements and assist inspectors in understanding rules
