The Vehicle Mechanic will diagnose, analyze and troubleshoot vehicle malfunctions and repair problems. This role involves maintaining and repairing government vehicles, completing maintenance tickets and repair orders in a timely manner, and disposing of waste materials per regulations. The mechanic will stay abreast of the latest technology and installation procedures, inspect, diagnose, and isolate vehicle and equipment malfunctions, and repair all assigned vehicles and equipment to ensure they are safe and dependable. Responsibilities include repairing various vehicle systems, utilizing diagnostic systems, assessing malfunctions, interacting with customers, inspecting and testing equipment, removing/replacing/adjusting parts, performing fluid changes and tune-ups, and potentially armoring vehicles. The role also includes performing State vehicle safety and emission inspections, identifying necessary parts, estimating costs, responding to emergency road calls, and road testing vehicles. Communication via email and telephone is also required, along with ensuring the necessary provision of vehicles and support for customers. All other position-related duties as assigned or requested are also part of the role.
