About The Position

Systems Application & Technologies, Inc. (SA-TECH) is seeking a Motor Vehicle Mechanic (MVM) on a temporary basis to cover a period of disability leave for one of their mechanics. In this role, the MVM will be responsible for a full range of field and sustainment level automotive/mechanical repair tasks on Army tactical and commercial vehicles, including material handling equipment (MHE). Repairs must adhere to Army 10/20 standards, applicable Technical Manuals, Safety of Use Messages (SOUMs), Material Work Orders (MWOs), local directives, drawings, and established trade techniques. The MVM will perform maintenance services, including inspection, testing, modification, and overhaul of automotive and MHE equipment, applying practical knowledge of equipment operation and component installation. Work will be performed in accordance with Army technical manuals and/or similar commercial published procedures, within specified timeframes outlined in Maintenance Allocation Charts (MACs). The MVM will ensure all identified faults and required service actions are completed before submission to Quality Control (QC) for final inspection, and will perform in-process inspections, conduct causative research using technical manuals, and document findings. Duties include removal, installation, modification, cleaning, adjusting, and repair of major automotive assemblies according to general support and limited depot-level repair actions as authorized in Army Regulation 750-1. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Specialized training through vocational or military schooling and/or a minimum of (3) years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Forklift license/certification.
  • Ability to obtain SECRET security clearance (if deemed necessary).
  • Current HI Driver’s License required.
  • Must be able to be insured through company’s vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of employment.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • If deemed necessary, you must be able to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance.
  • All candidates will be required to pass background screening to include SSN, Driver Record, and Criminal Background Investigation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a full range of field and sustainment level automotive/mechanical repair tasks across Army tactical and commercial vehicles, including material handling equipment (MHE).
  • Complete repair actions in accordance with Army 10/20 standards, applicable Technical Manuals, Safety of Use Messages (SOUMs), Material Work Orders (MWOs), local directives, drawings, and established trade techniques.
  • Perform maintenance-related service and repair tasks associated with the inspection, testing, modification, and overhaul of automotive and MHE equipment.
  • Apply broad practical knowledge of equipment operation and the installation of components, assemblies, and subsystems.
  • Perform work in accordance with Army technical manuals and/or similar commercial published procedures.
  • Perform all work within reasonable allowable time frames as outlined in respective Maintenance Allocation Charts (MACs).
  • Ensure all identified faults and required service actions are conducted prior to submission to Quality Control (QC) for final inspection.
  • Perform in-process inspections to address discovery maintenance faults.
  • Utilize technical manuals to conduct causative research and document findings accordingly.
  • Perform removal, installation, modification, cleaning, adjusting, and repair of major automotive assemblies across the maintenance standards of general support and limited depot-level repair actions as authorized in Army Regulation 750-1.
