About The Position

Sea Fox Boats is seeking an experienced Motor Hanger to join our production team. This position is responsible for installing and securing outboard motors and related components on newly manufactured boats while ensuring proper positioning, alignment, rigging, and finished appearance. The ideal candidate has marine manufacturing experience, strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and takes pride in producing a high-quality finished product.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in marine manufacturing, boat building, boat assembly, or a similar marine production environment is required.
  • Previous experience with outboard motor installation, marine rigging, motor hanging, or related boat assembly work is required.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to complete detailed installation and rigging work.
  • Ability to accurately measure, drill, fit, align, and secure components according to specifications.
  • Working knowledge of marine steering, controls, electrical systems, fuel systems, and motor rigging is required.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, diagrams, and production requirements.
  • Experience safely operating hand tools, power tools, lifting equipment, and installation equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship and finished appearance.
  • Ability to troubleshoot installation and rigging issues and make necessary adjustments.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively as part of a production team.
  • Dependable attendance and ability to meet production schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Install and secure outboard motors onto boats according to production specifications and manufacturer requirements.
  • Position and align motors to ensure proper fit, height, setback, and overall installation.
  • Install motor mounting hardware, brackets, fasteners, rigging components, and related hardware.
  • Measure, drill, fit, and secure motor mounting components while maintaining accuracy and quality standards.
  • Route and connect steering, throttle, shift, electrical, and other motor-related rigging components as required.
  • Connect fuel lines, control cables, wiring, and related systems according to production specifications.
  • Inspect completed motor installations to ensure proper alignment, secure attachment, routing, and functionality.
  • Identify and correct installation issues, defects, or inconsistencies before completion.
  • Follow work instructions, production procedures, manufacturer specifications, and quality standards.
  • Safely operate hand tools, power tools, lifting equipment, and marine installation equipment.
  • Maintain an organized work area and follow all safety requirements.
  • Communicate material shortages, quality concerns, or production issues to leadership.
  • Work collaboratively with other production team members to maintain workflow and meet production goals.
