About The Position

Campbell Oil Company is seeking a reliable and experienced Motor Fuel Delivery Truck Driver for the Fayetteville, NC area. This role is responsible for the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of fuel products to various customers, including gas stations, industrial sites, and commercial businesses. The position requires a strong commitment to safety, customer service, and adherence to regulatory standards for transporting hazardous materials. Requirements

  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with required endorsements (e.g., HazMat endorsement).
  • Previous experience in fuel delivery or a related field is preferred.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations regarding hazardous materials transportation.
  • Completion of safety and hazardous materials training programs.
  • Strong driving skills with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to navigate and use GPS systems for efficient routing.
  • Basic mechanical skills for vehicle inspections and minor repairs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift heavy fuel hoses and equipment (up to 50 lbs) as needed.
  • Ability to stand, bend, and climb for extended periods during loading and unloading.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to walk, stoop, bend, climb, talk, and hear.
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, and lift and pull up to 40 lbs.

  • First aid and CPR certification may be beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and navigate fuel delivery trucks, ensuring efficient route planning.
  • Deliver various types of fuel (e.g., gasoline, diesel, heating oil) to customer locations according to schedules.
  • Load fuel onto the truck at the distribution terminal, ensuring correct amount and type.
  • Utilize appropriate equipment and techniques for safe unloading of fuel into customer storage tanks, following all safety protocols.
  • Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations regarding the transportation of hazardous materials, including OSHA and EPA standards.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
  • Monitor for leaks or spills during loading, transport, and unloading, and respond according to established emergency procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of fuel deliveries, including quantities, customer signatures, and discrepancies.
  • Complete required documentation for regulatory compliance, including hazardous materials manifests.
  • Communicate with customers upon arrival to confirm delivery details and address concerns.
  • Provide excellent customer service and build positive relationships with clients.
  • Perform routine vehicle maintenance, including checking oil, fuel, brakes, and tires.
  • Report any mechanical issues or safety hazards to the fleet manager or maintenance team promptly.
  • Be prepared to respond to emergencies, such as fuel spills or accidents, by following proper protocols.
  • Participate in emergency response training and drills as required.
