About The Position

Nen Creative is seeking a freelance Motion Designer to join their team. This role is project-based, fully remote, and offers flexibility in hours. The Motion Designer will be responsible for creating motion graphics for tech clients, including launch videos, commercials, product explainers, social content, and brand campaigns. The work will involve 2D animation, UI animation, typography, compositing, and edit-driven animation. The designer will collaborate with producers, editors, designers, and directors, taking creative direction and contributing their own ideas. They will own projects from concept to delivery, iterate on feedback, and maintain a high level of craft. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced studio environment, requiring strong fundamentals, visual instincts, and a drive to create exceptional work.

Requirements

• 3 to 5 years of experience as a motion designer, ideally in a studio, agency, or in-house creative team
• A strong reel that demonstrates range across product and UI motion, brand work, and edit-driven animation
• Expert in After Effects; comfortable in Figma and DaVinci Resolve
• Strong visual design fundamentals — type, layout, color, composition, timing
• Real point of view on motion — easing, transitions, restraint — and the ability to talk through your decisions
• Comfortable taking feedback and iterating quickly without losing momentum
• Experience in studio, agency, or fast-moving startup environments

Responsibilities

• Design and animate motion work across launch videos, commercials, product explainers, social content, and brand campaigns
• Create work from concept through final delivery across 2D, UI, typography, compositing, and edit-driven animation
• Translate creative direction and storyboards into compelling motion that hits the intended tone, pacing, and feel
• Work closely with producers, editors, designers, and directors to bring ideas to life
• Iterate quickly on feedback from creative leads and clients without losing the craft
• Balance speed and quality while working across multiple projects and deadlines
