About The Position

The Propagation Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of propagation activities, including the management of clones and mother stock following company policies and procedures and in compliance with state regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Botany, Horticulture, Agricultural Engineering, or related field
  • 3+ years' experience in a large-scale commercial growing operation in a greenhouse environment, with 2+ years at the management level operations
  • Experience in multi-tiered growing environments.
  • Experience with grow data acquisition
  • Experience designing nutrient mixes
  • Knows automated environmental control systems
  • Advanced understanding of horticulture practices including cloning plants
  • Ability to identify and remedy plant disease states
  • Can identify and remedy suboptimal nutrient states
  • Detailed knowledge of indoor hydroponic cultivation practices, life cycle of cannabis, common pests of cannabis and compliance
  • Must be 21 years or older and pass any and all required pre-employment screenings
  • Full knowledge of all applicable law, regulations, and requirements to keep the facility at 100% compliance at all times, this includes being up to date on any changes to current applicable laws/regulations
  • Must pass all required background checks
  • Must be and remain compliant with any and all regulatory requirements for working in the cannabis industry
  • Must be able to obtain and retain a Registered Agent Card issued by the state of operation
  • Must have excellent organization and time management skills
  • Must be focused, pay close attention to detail
  • Must be able to internalize training and follow instructions
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing grow operations, which includes creating a comprehensive plan and timeline for mother stock management, as well as ensuring the timely execution of the cloning schedule.
  • Initiating and managing a clone schedule to consistently meet the demands of the business.
  • Assisting the Cultivation Manager in the creation of cultivation employee schedules based on provided demand estimations.
  • Assisting the Cultivation Manager in the employee review process of Propagation personnel.
  • Tracking consumable inventory levels and ensuring that adequate supplies are available in reasonable quantities.
  • Guarantees that the growing environment is consistently clean, well-equipped, and in excellent working condition.
  • Articulating a clear vision for success and educating Propagation team members on how their actions and achievements contribute to the company's overall goals.
  • Establishing and enforcing standards of accountability for Propagation staff.
  • Completing regularly scheduled quality assessments of plants for signs of pests/disease.
  • Ensuring staff is trained and follows appropriate SOP's.
  • Ensuring that all necessary information is accurately maintained in the designated system and that site records are kept up to date.
  • Mentoring and supporting the development of Propagation Technicians, offering continuous feedback to foster growth and improvement.
