About The Position

This position is responsible for establishing and maintaining loss prevention controls, developing and implementing policy and procedures, monitoring compliances, ensuring data integrity and keeping productivity and quality control on target for multiple departments. The role involves managing various aspects of mortgage operations, including loan boarding, payment processing, account maintenance, adjustable-rate management, post-closing processing, and insurance/tax monitoring. It also includes coordinating internal and external audits, researching and resolving accounting/collateral inquiries, and providing customer service support. The position requires adherence to mandatory training on Bank and BSA compliance, as well as other laws and regulations.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of mortgage loan servicing or mortgage banking experience preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of mortgage loan servicing and loan products
  • Solid retail banking knowledge and experience, including strong familiarity with regulatory compliances and practices including CRA compliance
  • Strong writing/drafting and editing skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software
  • Proven ability to develop strong working relationships and establish a high level of credibility across functional lines of business and organizational levels
  • Attention to detail, strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, self-motivated, and analytical skills, ability to interact with all levels of management and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Assists Department Manager in managing all aspects of mortgage operations, mortgage servicing and trade operations functions including but not limited to; loan boarding, payment processing, maintaining accounts, adjustable-rate management, post-closing processing, insurance and tax monitoring.
  • Compile the procedure and job aid creation/revision process working with staff, Management, Subject Matter Experts, Legal, Compliance, and Risk Management. Ensuring consumer and mortgage loan servicing policies and procedures best serve the Bank and its customers.
  • Provides service and service support and training within the Department and other related departments.
  • Responsible for coordination of all internal and external audits including compliance reviews working in coordination with department managers to successfully pass audits. Track to completion all remediation tasks needed to ensure processes are being followed and proper controls are in place.
  • Researches and resolves accounting/collateral inquiries (e.g., interest accrual/adjustments, amortization schedules, rate indexes, other monetary transactions, etc.)
  • Provide advice, counseling and solutions through staff directly related to customer servicing inquiries and consumer complaints.
  • Research and maintain accurate statistical records of department activity and relevant information.
  • Reviews various system-generated reports and ensure accuracy of loan system accounting and maintenance. Create ad hoc reports to ensure efficient monitoring/verification of loan data.
  • Successfully complete all mandatory training on related Bank and BSA compliance as well as other laws and regulations as assigned in a timely manner.
  • Perform all assigned duties under Bank’s compliance programs and related laws & regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
