About The Position

Newtown Savings Bank is seeking an organized, self-motivated, team player with 3-4 years of relevant administrative experience to join our Loan Origination Department as a Mortgage Pre-Processor. The Mortgage Pre-Processor provides administrative and operational support to the Processing and Disclosure Departments. This role is responsible for coordinating and managing the ordering, tracking and follow-up of third-party services required for mortgage applications, while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and enhancing the overall customer experience. The Mortgage Pre-Processor also assists with various disclosing and processing functions to support efficient workflow and timely loan closings. This is an onsite opportunity at our corporate office in Newtown, CT. The role has a remote option of one day per week.

Requirements

  • 3-4 years of relevant administrative experience preferred in lieu of formal education
  • High School Diploma required
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word and Excel skills required

Responsibilities

  • Review loan applications submitted by Mortgage Bankers to confirm receipt of the borrowers’ Intent to Proceed before ordering any third-party services.
  • Ensure loan files meet initial requirements and are ready for service orders in accordance with compliance guidelines.
  • Process mortgage applications fees and refunds accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain appropriate records and documentation related to fee transactions.
  • Order and manage all third-party services associated with mortgage applications, including Appraisals, Condominium reviews and services, title reports.
  • Monitor the status of all orders and proactively follow up with vendors and internal staff to ensure timely completion.
  • Resolve outstanding issues and obtain any additional information necessary to facilitate service completion.
  • Verify borrowers receive appraisal copies within required regulatory timeframes and ensure compliance with all applicable appraisal delivery requirements.
  • Communicate with condominium associations, management companies, and vendors to secure all necessary documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure timely receipt of required condominium information.
  • Order written Verifications of Employment (VOEs) and conduct follow-up as needed to obtain responses.
  • Ensure employment verifications are completed accurately and within established service level expectations.
  • Assist the Processing and Disclosure Departments with administrative tasks as assigned.
