About The Position

The Mortgage Loan Processor is responsible for assisting members and mortgage loan officers with their mortgage loan application processing. This role ensures that all documentation is completed compliantly and legally, meeting federally mandated dates and requirements before the loan moves to closing and funding. The processor manages each file from pre-approval to pre-closing, inputting and verifying loan documentation, including income, credit, appraisal, and title insurance. They order and coordinate loan documents and collaborate with members, MLOs, underwriters, and closers to ensure accurate and timely loan processing and closing. The role also involves performing other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Five years to eight years of similar or related experience in mortgage application processing.
  • A two-year college degree, or completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ten key calculator skills.
  • Typewriter skills.
  • Keyboard skills.

Responsibilities

  • Processes each file from pre-approval to pre-closing once a complete application is provided by the mortgage loan officer.
  • Inputs proper loan documentation into the system for processing.
  • Ensures that all loan documentation is complete, accurate, verified, and complies with company, state, and federal policy.
  • Verifies loan documents including but not limited to income, credit, appraisal and title insurance, flood.
  • Prepares application for submittal to underwriting to clear conditions and assist in the loan being cleared to close.
  • Reviews file documentation to make sure all items needed are requested.
  • Orders and coordinates loan documents.
  • Works with the member, the MLO, underwriter, and closer to ensure accurate and timely loan processing and closing.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
