About The Position

The Mortgage Loan Processor / Servicing Specialist is responsible for managing mortgage loans throughout the processing and post-closing lifecycle. This role ensures loans are accurately processed and documented in compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements. The position also supports servicing functions including escrow administration, payoffs, participations, and loans held in trust, requiring a strong understanding of loan systems and complex loan structures.

  • mortgage processing experience preferred
  • Experience with loan servicing, participations, or complex loan structures preferred
  • Community bank or title company experience strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of mortgage processing, documentation, and compliance preferred
  • Familiarity with escrow, payoffs, and loan servicing functions preferred
  • Understanding of loan participations and trust-held loans is a plus
  • Experience with loan operating/core systems preferred

Responsibilities

  • Process mortgage loan files from application through closing
  • Collect, review, and verify borrower documentation (income, assets, credit, etc.)
  • Prepare complete and accurate loan files for underwriting submission
  • Communicate with loan officers, underwriters, and third parties to obtain required information
  • Clear underwriting conditions and ensure timely progression to closing
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory guidelines
  • Support post-closing activities including file review, documentation accuracy, and file delivery
  • Process loan payoffs, releases, and satisfactions
  • Assist with escrow setup and final disbursement tracking
  • Handle loan file releases and collateral documentation requests
  • Support administration of loan participations, including tracking, reporting, and communication with participating institutions
  • Assist with loans held in trust or complex ownership structures, ensuring proper documentation and system setup
  • Coordinate with internal departments for accurate booking
  • Respond to borrower and internal inquiries regarding loan status, documentation, and servicing needs
  • Provide high-level customer service while balancing operational responsibilities
  • Collaborate across departments to resolve issues and ensure smooth loan lifecycle management
